Christine Jahan

I am a Peruvian American who spent most of my childhood growing up in Saudi Arabia in the late 1980’s and 1990’s. For 10 years my family and I traveled multiple times a year, exposing me to extreme luxury, extreme poverty, historical sites (so many castles and palaces), and innovation. Ask me about how I spent the night on a hut floor in the Golden Triangle with a kind family who lived there or how it was going to school at an American International school located next to the American Consulate and American Air Force base during the Gulf War. The cultures, architecture, and people I met shaped me at my core and influence all of my designs today.

My father was an engineer and my mom is an diabetes expert registered nurse, so arts were never in the cards for me when it came to a profession. I studied Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Materials Science thinking I wanted to be a physician. But then I decided maybe I’d want to start my own Biomedical Engineering company. After a short stint in the corporate sales division of Staples, where I met with company CFO’s and COO’s I went into oil and gas as a project manager. After 5 years I decided my job was still not fully aligned with who I am. I went into life coaching, but missed making enough money to support my lifestyle. So after my last client gained the strength to stand on their own two feet I decided to offer my parents a bathroom remodel.

I have always loved designing spaces and felt like it would be the perfect activity as I thought about what my next career steps would be. As I sat on the floor of my parents’ bathroom testing paint colors on the wall my husband walked in with my 6 month old baby and asked if I had ever considered Interior Design as a career. I scoffed at him only having HGTV as a source for what Interior Designers do (not that there’s anything wrong with it). He then told me what he knew about it and I decided to research it. I found and purchased the 600-page textbook, Interior Design by John F. Pile and began reading. 300 pages into the textbook I decided to sign up for Architecture and Interior Design classes. After each quarter I was still obsessed and before I knew it I was signed up for the Interior Design and Interior Architecture program. Two years later I graduated with Distinction and the rest is history.

Interior Design brings me to life and I’m so grateful that I get to share my talents and passion with the world as my job! One of my favorite things about what I do is that no project is or will ever be the same. I’m so excited for what is to come! I look forward to creating more rare, extraordinary, and individually customized spaces…and I look forward to meeting more incredibly accomplished and amazing clients who are the nicest people in the world!
